About Soleil
Soleil Kohl (she/they) is an experimental performance artist based in Denver, Colorado specializing in clown and interactive theatre. Her work ranges from absurdist satire and character work to embodied physical theatre and dance, creating a refreshing mixture of physicality, authenticity, and provocation. Her teaching style is informed by several years of improv comedy, physical theater, and clown studies, taking from several styles and pedagogies, including Lecoq-style body work and emerging modern clown practice.
Soleil has brought solo work across the US and abroad, and has been featured on BBC Scotland. She devises group material through CLOWN SLOP, a ragtag performance troupe that creates confrontational and bizarre clown, bouffon, and absurdist theatre.
In addition to her extensive performance training, Soleil holds a BA in Emergent Digital Practices and Creative Writing and an MA in Learning, Developmental, & Family Sciences.
