Presence, Play, & Physical Poetry: AN All-levels clown workshop

Sunday, January 25th

12 - 4pm

1400 Dallas St Aurora, CO

$30 - $100 (sliding scale)

A woman dressed as a clown, wearing a red shirt, floral apron, and clown nose, is smiling and holding a pink cloth. Another person in the background is laughing under low lighting.

Rooted in foundational physical theater techniques, this class is for students of all performance backgrounds who want to get out of their heads and into their bodies to generate material.

In a supportive environment, we will take bold risks to find and deconstruct our instincts on stage: what does the audience think of us? how do we tune in to our impulses? When something goes wrong, how do we recover?

These skills will support performance work of all types: improv, acting, clown, devised work, drag, movement, sketch, etc. Students will come out with a toolkit of skills and vocabulary of terms to apply to future work, as well as a better understanding of themselves and how they can play with/against themselves on stage.
