MAKING FAILURE FUNNY: Advanced clown for comedy performers
SOLD OUT!
Mondays, 6:30-9:00pm, October 6 - November 10th $150 for 6 weeks
Chaos Bloom Theater, Denver, CO
Rooted in foundational physical theater techniques, this class is for students of all performance backgrounds who want to find more precision in their comedy work while getting the chance to try a lot of different styles through FAILURE. We will fail big, fail small, fail messily, and fail like there’s no tomorrow to discover that failure is not the end, but a beautiful beginning.
In a supportive environment, we will take bold risks to find and deconstruct our instincts on stage: what do we do when the audience doesn’t like us? How do we win them back?
These skills will support comedy work of all types: improv, clown, devised work, sketch, etc. Students will come out with a toolkit of skills and vocabulary of terms to apply to future work, as well as a better understanding of themselves and how they can play with/against themselves on stage.
